Domain parking

Domain parking is kind of like 'parking' a website. It means that you buy the rights to use a website name (the ‘domain’) and you leave it empty until you decide what to do with it. For example, if you own a business, you may want to use a website name to promote that business, so you buy the rights to the name, then park it until you are ready to put something on it.
