Domestic furnishing in early modern Scotland

Early modern Scotland (between the 1500s and 1700s) was a time when Scotland was its own nation and people were starting to build their own homes. Domestic furnishing was very important in Scotland during this time, because it was a way for people to decorate their homes and make them comfortable. Furnishing included things like chairs, tables, beds, carpets, and curtains. People also decorated their walls with paintings and hung items like pots and pans in the kitchen. Furnishings not only made houses look better, but also made them function better with items like chairs, tables, and beds helping people to sit, eat, and sleep comfortably.
