ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Domestic policy

Domestic policy is a set of rules that the government makes for people who live within a country. It is like a big rule book that tells everyone what they can and cannot do inside their own country. It covers things like how much money people make, how they get healthcare, what they can buy and sell, and how the government helps people who need it.

For example, if you want to go to school or buy something from the store, domestic policy says what you will need to pay and how to do it. It also says how much money the government will spend on things like building roads and bridges or funding schools.

Domestic policy also has rules for how people interact with each other. It tells people what they can and cannot do to each other, like how to behave in a public place or how to take care of a pet.

Governments make domestic policies to make sure that people are safe and happy, and that they have everything they need to live a good life. It is like a set of rules and guidelines that help everyone to live together in harmony.
