Dosimetry

Okay kiddo, have you heard of x-rays or radiation? Dosimetry is all about measuring and keeping track of how much of that stuff people are exposed to so we can make sure they don't get hurt.

You know how when you eat candy, you count how many you eat so you don't get a tummy ache? It's kind of like that, but for grown-ups and radiation.

Scientists use special tools to measure radiation and keep track of how much people are getting exposed to. They use dosimeters, which are kind of like little badges that people wear to help measure this exposure.

Dosimeters can be worn outside of the body or sometimes even inside of it, like a tiny pill in your stomach that measures radiation! And just like with candy, scientists keep track of how much radiation is safe for people to be exposed to so they don't get hurt.

So, that's dosimetry in a nutshell: it's all about keeping track of how much radiation people are exposed to so they stay safe and healthy.
