Dramaturgical action

Dramaturgical action is when we act differently depending on who's around us. Just like in a play, when people change their behavior to fit their role on stage, we often do the same in everyday life. For example, if you're around some friends you know well, you may act different than when you're with your teacher or a stranger. We make choices based on who's around us, so we can feel more confident or be more polite.
