ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Driving simulator

Okay kiddo, so imagine you want to learn how to drive a car, but you’re not old enough or maybe it’s not safe to go on a real road yet. That’s where a driving simulator comes in!

A driving simulator is like playing a videogame, but instead of using a controller, you sit in a special chair that feels like a real car and you use a steering wheel, pedals and gear stick just like in a real car. You also wear a headset that shows you a screen that looks just like a real road.

The driving simulator has lots of different scenarios that help you practice driving in different situations. Maybe you need to drive on a busy highway or turn on a narrow street. You can also practice things like parking and parallel parking.

The cool thing about the driving simulator is that it’s safe – you can make mistakes without getting hurt or breaking anything. And because it’s a simulator, you can practice driving in different weather conditions like rain or snow.

So, the driving simulator is like a fun and safe way to practice driving before you’re ready to hit the road for real. Pretty cool, right?
