ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Drug accumulation ratio

Have you ever played with Legos and built a tower? Each time you added more and more Legos, the tower got taller, right? Well, the drug accumulation ratio is kind of like that tower.

You see, when we take medicine, our body needs time to get rid of it. But if we keep taking more medicine before our body has a chance to get rid of the first dose, the medicine starts to stack up inside us just like how the Lego tower gets taller each time we add more Legos.

This is what we call the drug accumulation ratio. It's the amount of medicine that builds up in our body when we take more doses before the first dose has a chance to leave our system.

It's important to be careful and not take too much medicine or take it too often, because if too much accumulates, it can cause harm to our body. So always follow the instructions your doctor or pharmacist gives you, and never take more than you're supposed to.
