ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Drug interaction

Drug interaction occurs when two drugs interact with each other in the body. It is important to understand how the drugs you take interact with one another because the combined effects may be more powerful than the effects of either drug on its own. For example, if you are taking a pain reliever and an anti-anxiety medication together, the combined effects can make it harder for you to think or concentrate. In some cases, the interaction may even be dangerous and make you very sick. So it is important to know how the drugs you take interact before you take them together.
