Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative

Imagine there are some people who are very sick and there are no medicines to help them get better. These people have neglected diseases, which means not enough attention has been given to them by doctors and scientists.

To help these people, a group called Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi) works to make new medicines for these neglected diseases, diseases like sleeping sickness and leprosy.

Making medicines is hard work and takes a long time, but DNDi has lots of people working together to do it. They find new ways to make medicines and test them to make sure they will help sick people without making them sicker.

Once a medicine is made, DNDi works to make sure it is available to the people who need it most, like those in poor countries who cannot afford expensive medicines. By doing this, DNDi is helping to make sure everyone gets the help they need to feel better!
