Dual-clutch transmission

A dual-clutch transmission (or DCT) is a type of car transmission that works just like an automatic transmission - it shifts gears automatically. Instead of one clutch, like a regular automatic, a DCT has two clutches that work together. One clutch shifts the odd gears (1, 3, 5 etc) while the other shifts the even gears (2, 4, 6 etc). This means that the car can quickly switch between two gears at the same time, making gear changes smoother and faster.
