Ducted fan

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a helicopter or a drone? They have things called rotors that help them fly.

Now imagine if you had lots and lots of rotors all lined up together in a circle. That's kind of what a ducted fan is.

It's like a big circle with blades on it that spin really fast, and it's surrounded by a tube called a duct. That duct helps to direct the air that the blades push down so it goes in one direction.

Ducted fans are often used in things like airplanes, where they help the plane to move forward through the air. They can also be used in special types of cars or boats to help them go really fast.

So basically, a ducted fan is a big spinning circle that can move things through the air or water really fast, and it keeps all the air going in the same direction with a special duct.
