ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Durrington Walls

Durrington Walls is a big area in England where there are some very old circles made of rocks called "stones". These rocks are really really old, as old as some of the oldest things on the planet. They were put there by people a long long time ago, before there were cars or phones or even houses with electricity.

The stones at Durrington Walls are special because they were arranged in a circle, like a round shape, and they were used for big meetings and celebrations. People would gather there to do lots of things like dance, sing, and trade things with each other.

These rocks were put there by people who didn't have big machines like cranes to lift them up. So they had to be very strong and work together to carry these big heavy rocks and put them in the right places. It probably took a long time to build these circles and it's amazing that they still stand today for people to see.

Even though we might not know exactly why people made these circles, we can appreciate them as a reminder of how creative and resourceful people were a really long time ago.
