Dutch Brazil

Ok, so a really long time ago, there was a place called Brazil. It was not part of the Netherlands (where some people speak Dutch). But then, some Dutch people went to Brazil and decided they wanted it to be part of the Netherlands. They fought with other people who lived there and eventually won.

The Dutch ruled Brazil for a while, but it wasn't always peaceful. They wanted to make money from Brazil by growing things like sugar and coffee, and they made some people work really hard to do this.

After a few years, though, the Dutch didn't think it was worth it. They had to spend a lot of money to keep controlling Brazil, and they weren't making as much money as they hoped. So, they decided to leave and let Brazil be its own place again.

Today, Brazil is still a country, but it's not part of the Netherlands anymore.
