Dutch Caribbean
Okay kiddo, so you know how there are different countries all over the world, right? Well, the Dutch Caribbean is a group of islands in the Caribbean Sea that are controlled by the country called the Netherlands.
Now, do you remember learning about the Netherlands before? It's that country in Europe with the windmills, tulips, and wooden shoes. They speak Dutch there. Well, the Netherlands has some islands in the Caribbean that they also control, and those islands are part of the Dutch Caribbean.
Some of the islands in the Dutch Caribbean are really tiny, and some are bigger. Some of the islands have really beautiful beaches and clear blue water. One of the biggest islands is called Curacao, and it has lots of colorful buildings and cute shops.
So, even though the Netherlands is really far away, they still have some little islands that they take care of in the Caribbean. Isn't that cool?
