Dynamic braking

Dynamic braking is when a machine or vehicle changes energy from kinetic energy (the energy of movement) into heat energy. When a car is slowing down, it uses its brakes to turn kinetic energy into heat energy. This is a way of slowing the car down by changing the energy. In electric machines and vehicles, dynamic braking can be used instead of brakes.
