Have you ever tried doing something over and over again, but kept getting the same answer? That’s called repeating.
In math, we use a symbol called an exponent to tell us how many times we need to repeat the same number, called the base. The exponent is the little number that sits next to the big number, like this: 3^2.
Now, let’s talk about e7. The number e is a very special number in math. It’s what we call an irrational number, which means it goes on and on forever without repeating any patterns. e is about 2.71828.
When we see e7, that means we need to repeat e seven times, so we would write it as e x e x e x e x e x e x e.
That’s a lot of e’s, but when we multiply all of those e’s together, we get a very big number, about 1096.63316.
So e7 is just a fancy way of saying we need to repeat the number e seven times and then multiply them all together.
