EFI System partition

The EFI System Partition (ESP) is a section of your computer's hard drive that stores special files. It is used by your computer to start up and run different programs. These programs, also known as firmware, are like very basic programs built into the hardware of your computer. The ESP is what tells your computer what to do when it boots up. It helps your computer find and load the correct programs so that it can run. Without the ESP, your computer wouldn't be able to start up.
