ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

EU

So imagine you have a bunch of friends who all live in different houses. Sometimes you want to play games or do activities together, but it's hard because everyone lives far away. So you decide to make a club called the European Union (EU).

The EU is like a big group of countries who work together to make things easier for everyone. Just like how you and your friends have rules for your club, the EU has rules that all the countries agree to follow.

One of the rules is that people can travel freely between countries without needing a special visa or passport. This means you can visit your friends in their houses without having to ask your parents for permission every time.

Another rule is that goods and products can be traded easily between countries without extra taxes or fees. This is like how you and your friends might trade snacks or toys without having to pay each other money.

The EU also helps to protect the environment, make rules about how workers should be treated, and give money to countries that need it. It's like a huge team that works together to make the lives of everyone in Europe better.
