Early Christianity refers to the beginning of the Christian religion, around 2000 years ago. At that time, Jesus Christ came and preached to people about love and kindness. He told them that God loved them very much and that he wanted them to love each other too. Jesus did many miracles, such as healing the sick and bringing the dead back to life, which made people believe that he was sent by God.
After Jesus died and rose from the dead, his followers spread the word about him and his teachings. They formed communities called churches and shared stories about Jesus and his life. These stories were eventually written down in books called the New Testament, which is part of the Bible.
Early Christians were persecuted by the Roman Empire because they did not worship the same gods as everyone else. But over time, more and more people started to believe in Jesus and Christianity became an important religion.
Early Christians met in secret and held ceremonies called baptisms, where people would get baptized in water to show that they believed in Jesus. They also celebrated a special meal called the Eucharist, where they would eat bread and drink wine to remember Jesus and the sacrifice he made for humanity.
Today, Christianity is still a major religion with billions of followers around the world.
