Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961, in Hawaii. He had a mom from America named Ann Dunham and a dad from Kenya named Barack Obama Sr.
When Obama was only two years old, his parents separated, and he went to live with his mom and grandparents in Hawaii. When he was six years old, his mom married a man from Indonesia named Lolo Soetoro, and they moved to Indonesia for a few years.
When Obama was 10 years old, he went back to live with his grandparents in Hawaii, and that's where he finished his middle school and high school education. After high school, he went to college in California and eventually transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he earned his degree.
After college, Obama went to Chicago to work as a community organizer, which means he worked to make life better for people in the community. Then he went to law school at Harvard University, where he did really well and graduated with honors.
After law school, Obama went back to Chicago and started working as a lawyer. Eventually, he got involved in politics and became a state senator in Illinois. He worked hard to help people in his community, and he often talked about the importance of coming together to make positive changes in the world.
