ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Eaton's inequality

Eaton's inequality is when you have a bunch of numbers, and some are bigger than others. Basically, it's a way to see if the big numbers are much bigger than all the other numbers. It's like if you have a group of friends and some of them have more toys or more candy than others. Eaton's inequality looks at whether the friends with the most toys or candy have a lot more than everyone else. If they do, then Eaton's inequality says that the group is not very equal. But if everyone has about the same amount of toys or candy, then Eaton's inequality says that the group is pretty equal. It's a way to look at how fair or unfair something is, like how fair toys are being shared in a playgroup.
