Ecchymosis

Ecchymosis is when you get really big bruises that are purple or blue on your skin. When you fall down or get bumped really hard, the little blood vessels under your skin can break and leak out some blood. That's why your skin gets bruised and looks purple or blue. It might hurt a little bit when you touch it, but don't worry, bruises will go away on their own. Just be careful next time!
