ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ecclesiae Regimen

Ecclesiae regimen is a fancy term that means how the church is run, just like how mom and dad run our family at home. Just like how mom and dad make rules and decisions for our family, the church has people in charge like priests, bishops, and the Pope who make decisions for the church.

The church has lots of important things to do, like teaching us about God’s love and making sure everybody is following God’s rules. These leaders help make sure everybody is doing what they are supposed to do in the church and that everything is running smoothly. They also help people who need special help, and they make sure everyone is being kind to each other.

Sometimes there are disagreements about how things should be done in the church, just like when we have disagreements about what games to play at recess or what flavor of ice cream to have after dinner. When that happens, the leaders of the church talk to each other and pray together to try to figure out the best way to move forward.

Overall, ecclesiae regimen is just a fancy term for how the church is run, and it’s important so that everyone can work together to do what is best for the church and to spread God’s love and kindness.
