ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Echidna

An echidna is a small, spiny mammal found in Australia and New Guinea. It looks a bit like a porcupine, but with a long snout and fur instead of pointy quills. They're mammals, like us, so they have fur and give birth to live babies, but most of the time you'll find them digging holes with their strong claws and snout. And, just like a porcupine, the echidna is covered with prickly quills to protect itself from predators. There are four different types of echidnas, and they all eat ants and termites — yum!
