Effect of climate change on plant biodiversity

Okay, kiddo, imagine a garden with lots of different types of flowers and plants. Now, imagine that the sun gets hotter and the rain comes less often. This is like what's happening with climate change.

When the weather changes, some plants might not be able to survive anymore because they need specific amounts of sunlight and water to grow. This is like when you don't get enough food or water, it's hard for you to stay healthy and grow.

Also, when the weather gets warmer, some plants might start growing in places where they didn't used to live. But, the native plants that used to grow there might not be able to compete with the new plants or live in the new conditions. This means that some plants could disappear and the garden won't look as diverse anymore. It's like if you invited some new friends to play but they took over all the games and didn't let you and your old friends play anymore.
