Effects of tropical cyclones

Okay kiddo, do you know what a big, big storm is? Sometimes, the wind can be so strong that it can knock down trees, houses, and even cars! That’s what a tropical cyclone is, which is also known as a hurricane or typhoon.

When a tropical cyclone forms over the ocean, it starts to spin around and become stronger and stronger because it sucks up warm, moist air. The wind speeds can get really high and the rain can come down in buckets, which can cause serious flooding. People need to stay safe by taking shelter in strong buildings and stocking up on food, water, and other supplies.

These big storms can also create huge waves and storm surges, which are like giant walls of water that can wash away everything in their path. This is why people who live near the coast need to pay attention to weather forecasts and evacuate if they are told to do so.

Tropical cyclones can also damage important things like power lines and roads, which can make it hard for people to get help or leave their homes. Additionally, the heavy rain can cause landslides and other problems that can be dangerous for people and animals.

It’s important to remember that tropical cyclones can be very powerful and even deadly, so it’s always better to be prepared and stay safe.
