Egg substitutes

Egg substitutes are things that people can use instead of real eggs when cooking or baking. Sometimes people can't, or don't want to, eat eggs because of allergies or other reasons. There are many different kinds of egg substitutes, but they all have one thing in common: They do some of the same things that eggs do in recipes, like making things stick together or rise.

Some egg substitutes are made from other foods, like tofu or mashed bananas. Some are powders that you can mix with water to make a substitute that looks like eggs. And some are liquid products that you can buy in the grocery store.

When you're using an egg substitute, it's really important to follow the directions on the package, or the recipe you're using. That's because different substitutes work better in different kinds of recipes. For example, some substitutes work better for baking cakes, and others work better for making scrambled eggs. So make sure you read and follow the instructions carefully!
