Egg timer

An egg timer is a little clock that you use when you're cooking eggs. It helps you know how long to cook them so that they turn out just right, not too soft and not too hard.

The egg timer is usually made of glass or plastic and has sand inside. When you turn it upside down, the sand starts to flow from the top to the bottom. The amount of sand in the timer is just enough to measure the time needed to cook your eggs.

To use an egg timer, you need to set it up by turning it upside down and waiting for the sand to start flowing. Then, you put your eggs in the boiling water and watch the timer. When all the sand has flowed from the top to the bottom of the timer, it means that your eggs are cooked.

So, it's like a little clock that helps you know when your eggs are done cooking. Pretty cool, huh?
