Egypt

Egypt is a big country in Africa. A long time ago, thousands of years ago, there were people in Egypt called Pharaohs. They were like kings, but they had a lot of power and people thought they were special because they said they were chosen by the gods. The Pharaohs built big and beautiful buildings and pyramids, which are like big triangles made out of rocks, where they would bury themselves after they died.

Egypt has a big river called the Nile that runs through it. It's really important because it brings water to the dry desert land around it so that people can grow crops and live. People came from all over the world to trade with Egypt because it was a really rich and powerful place. Egyptians also made a lot of things out of gold and used a writing system with pictures called hieroglyphics.

Nowadays, Egypt is still a really important and interesting place with lots of different things to see and do. People come from all over the world to visit the pyramids and learn about the Pharaohs, see the temples and tombs, and go on a cruise down the Nile river. Egypt is also famous for its food, like falafel and hummus, and the colorful markets where you can buy all sorts of interesting things.
