Okay kiddo, do you know what eccentric means? It means someone who is a bit unusual, maybe even strange or wacky! Now, a long time ago in China, there were eight people who were considered very eccentric. They were called the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou.

Let me tell you a bit about each of them:

1. Shen Zhou: He was an artist who loved to paint beautiful landscapes. But he didn't use traditional painting techniques. Instead, he used his fingers to create unique and unusual patterns.

2. Wen Zhengming: He was also an artist, but he loved calligraphy. He was known for his beautiful handwriting, but he would also write upside down or sideways just to be different!

3. Tang Yin: Another artist, Tang Yin loved to paint people and animals. But he didn't just paint them realistically. He would add funny little details, like making people's ears extra big or making animals dance!

4. Yang Shen: He was a musician who played the guqin, a traditional Chinese instrument. But he didn't just play it normally. He would play it upside down or even with his feet!

5. Li Dongyang: Li Dongyang loved to read and study. He was very smart, but he was also very funny. He would write silly poems and make jokes about serious topics.

6. Xue Susu: Xue Susu was a famous doctor, but he was also very strange. He would wear strange clothing and eat strange foods like snakes and insects!

7. Gao Lian: Gao Lian was known for his writing. He wrote books about ghosts and spirits and even wrote a book about how to have fun in life!
