ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

El Torito (CD-ROM standard)

ELI5: el torito is a standard that allows computers to read a CD-ROM (Compact Disc - Read Only Memory). It's called el torito because the name means "the little bull" - it's like the bull in a bull ring, giving information to computers so they can know what's on the CD-ROM. When you put a CD with el torito on it into your computer, your computer will "listen" to the information from the el torito standard and will know what programs, games, photos, music and movies are on the CD-ROM.
