ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Electoral Reform Society

Okay kiddo, imagine you and your friends are having a race to see who can run the fastest. But instead of everyone starting together, you have to run one at a time while everyone else watches. This is kind of like how our elections work right now.

The Electoral Reform Society is a group of grown-ups who think that there might be a better way for us to have fair and equal elections. They think that everyone should have an equal chance to be heard and that every vote should count the same.

Right now, the people who make the rules for how elections work can sometimes choose where people can vote, what the ballot looks like, and who gets to run for office. This might not always be fair and sometimes people might feel like their voice isn't being heard.

The Electoral Reform Society thinks that there should be a few key changes to how elections work. They think that everyone should be able to vote easily and everyone's vote should be counted fairly. They also think that political parties should have to work together more to make sure everyone's voice is heard.

The Electoral Reform Society is kind of like your friend who wants to make sure everyone gets a fair shot in the race. They want to make sure everyone can run on the same course with the same rules so everyone has an equal chance to win.
