ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Electric car energy efficiency

Electric cars are more energy efficient than regular cars because they don't need gasoline to run. Instead, they run like a battery-powered toy car, using electricity stored in the battery. The stored electricity is used to power an electric motor, which makes the car go. Since electricity is more efficient than gasoline, electric cars get more miles per the same amount of energy. This means electric cars can travel farther on the same amount of energy, so you don't have to use as much to get where you're going.
