Electric motor

An electric motor is a machine that takes electricity and turns it into motion. It has two important parts: a spinning shaft called a rotor and a set of magnets that are arranged around the rotor. When electricity is applied to the magnets, they push and pull the rotor causing it to spin. The more electricity that is applied, the faster the electric motor turns. Electric motors can be used in a variety of things, from toys to cars and from washing machines to fans.
