ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Electric multiple unit

Okay kiddo, do you know what a train is? It's a group of cars that are connected together and run on tracks.

An electric multiple unit (EMU) is a special kind of train that runs on electricity instead of gasoline or diesel.

Instead of having one big engine car that pulls all the other cars like a traditional train, an EMU has lots of smaller motors that are spread out throughout the train cars.

This is important because it makes the train more flexible and efficient. Each individual motor can adjust its power and speed to match the needs of the train and the track conditions.

Plus, because the train is running on electricity, it's much cleaner and better for the environment than traditional trains.

So an EMU is like a bunch of smaller engines working together to run a train on electricity, which is better for the planet. How cool is that?
