Electroconvulsive therapy

Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is a medical treatment where doctors use electricity to help people who are feeling very sad or have another mental health condition. It works by sending electrical pulses to the brain, which helps to change how the brain works and make people feel better. It is usually done in a hospital, and the person receiving the treatment is put to sleep using medicine first. After the treatment, the person wakes up and usually feels better.
