Electronic Travel Authority (Australia)

An electronic travel authority, or ETA, is kind of like a special permission slip that you need to have if you want to visit Australia from another country. It's a special piece of computer paper that you get from the Australian government that says it's okay for you to come and visit for a little while.

You don't actually get this permission slip on paper though - it's all electronic, which means it's all done on a computer. So instead of getting a piece of paper, you get an email or message on your computer that says you have your ETA.

To get your ETA, you usually have to fill out a little form online with some information about yourself, like your name, address, and how long you want to stay in Australia. Then you might have to pay a small fee to the government for this permission slip.

Having an ETA is really important because if you don't have one, the people at the airport in Australia might not let you come into the country. That's why it's really important to make sure you get your ETA before you go.
