Electronic health records in the United States

Electronic health records (sometimes called "EHRs") are digital versions of your health information like the paper health records that your doctor or nurse keeps. They are used to keep track of your health care and share this information with other doctors and nurses so that they can keep track of your health too. Electronic health records help doctors, nurses and other health care professionals make sure they are giving you the best care possible by keeping track of all of your health information in one place. There are special laws in the United States to make sure that your electronic health records are kept private and secure.
