Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is a type of service that provides medical help in an emergency. When someone is hurt or sick and needs help, they can call for an EMS worker to come to their aid. EMS workers take care of people by giving them medicine and healthy advice and checking their vitals like blood pressure and heart rate. EMS workers also transport people to a hospital if the person needs more advanced medical care. EMS workers help make sure people get the medical help they need when there’s an emergency.
