End-of-history illusion

Okay kiddo, have you ever looked at some old pictures of your parents or grandparents and thought, "Wow, they look so different from how they are now"? Well, people can make the mistake of thinking that the way things are now is the way they'll always be. That's called the end-of-history illusion.

Sometimes, we think that we've reached the end of history because we believe that things won't change all that much from how they are right now. For example, people might think that technology has reached its peak and there won't be any new inventions. Or they might think that the way we live now is the best way and will never change.

But that's not true! History has always been changing and evolving, so it's not realistic to think that things won't change in the future. Just like your parents and grandparents looked different in the past, the world will look different in the future. So, it's important to keep an open mind and be ready for change!
