End-of-life care

End-of-life care is caring for people who are very sick and are nearing the end of their life. This care helps to make people as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their last days or hours. End-of-life care may include giving medicine to help with pain, providing emotional support for the patient and their family, and helping the family with things like funeral arrangements. It also includes the necessary steps to ensure the patient is not kept on life support machines after they have died.
