ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Endothermic process

An endothermic process is something that happens when heat is absorbed. Imagine you are outside on a sunny day and you are feeling hot. When you go inside your home where it is much cooler, you start feeling better. This is because your body is absorbing the coolness of the room, and that is an endothermic process. Another example is when you put ice in a drink. The ice absorbs the heat from the drink and melts, which is an endothermic process. So basically, when something absorbs heat, that is an endothermic process.
