Engineering for Change (E4C) is a way for people with engineering skills to help make the world a better place. It starts by people identifying an issue that needs to be fixed in their communities (such as a lack of clean drinking water, or a lack of access to electricity). Then, engineers use their knowledge and skills to create new tools, technologies and solutions to solve these issues. For example, an engineer might design a new water pump that makes it easier and faster to get clean drinking water. Or, they might design a solar-powered device that helps people to have access to electricity in their homes. Ultimately, engineering for change is a way for people to use their engineering skills to help make their communities and the world a better place.
