Engineering optimization

Engineering optimization is when engineers try to figure out how to make something the best it can be. This means they try to make it work better, use less energy, cost less money, and/or be faster. To do this they look at all the parts of something (like a car or a machine) and come up with ways to make it better. They then use math and sometimes computers to decide which ideas are the best.
