ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Enron (play)

So, back in the day, there was this company called Enron. They did a lot of important grown-up stuff like buying and selling energy to different places. But, the people who ran Enron were not very nice. They did some very bad things.

They lied about how much money they were making, and they pretended to be doing really good business even though they weren't. This made people want to invest in their company and buy their stocks, but they were not telling the truth.

After a little while, things started to fall apart. People found out that they were not making as much money as they said they were, and when that happened, people stopped wanting to invest in their company. That meant the people who worked for Enron started to lose their jobs.

The play about Enron is all about what happened to this company and the people who worked there. It's a way for us all to learn from the mistakes they made so we can make sure people do not do things like that again.
