ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Entrez

Entrez is like a giant library, but for scientific information instead of books. It's where scientists can go to find lots of different types of information about genes, proteins, and other biological things.

Let's say you're interested in a gene called "BRCA1." You can type that into the Entrez search bar, and it will give you a bunch of results. These results might include scientific research papers, information about the structure of the gene, and even pictures of what the protein produced by the gene looks like.

So, Entrez is basically the place where scientists go to find all sorts of information about genes, proteins, and other biological things that they might want to study. It's like a super helpful tool that helps them do their research and learn new things about the world around us.
