Environmental exogenous hormones

Hi there!

So, have you heard of hormones before? They are these special things in our body that help us grow, and develop, and do lots of important things.

Well, there are some special hormones that aren't made in our bodies that can also affect us. These are called exogenous hormones, and they can come from the environment around us.

Now, let's talk about the environment. It's everything around us, like the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. Sometimes, things in the environment can act like hormones, and affect our bodies in different ways.

For example, there are some chemicals in the environment called endocrine disruptors. They can act like hormones in our body, and mess up the way our real hormones work. This can cause problems like developmental issues, reproductive problems, and even cancer.

So, we have to be careful about what we're exposed to in the environment. And scientists are working hard to study exogenous hormones and figure out how they might affect us, so we can stay healthy and safe.
