Environmental privilege is a fancy way of talking about how some people have it easier than others when it comes to things like clean air, clean water, and healthy environments.
Let's say you and your friend both live in the same city. But your friend's family lives in a big fancy house with lots of trees and a pool, while your family lives in a small apartment building next to a busy highway. Your friend has access to lots of green space, fresh air, and clean water, while you might have to deal with lots of pollution and noise just to go outside.
That's kind of like environmental privilege - some people have the privilege of living in cleaner, healthier environments because of where they live or the resources they have. It's not really fair, but it's something we can work to change by making sure everyone has access to clean air, water, and a healthy environment.
