ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Environmental sustainability

Environmental sustainability means taking care of the environment so that it keeps working the way it should and doesn't get hurt. We do this by cutting down on things like pollution, which means making sure that people and companies don't dump bad stuff into the air, water, and land. We also make sure to preserve natural places, like forests and lakes, that lots of animals need to live in. Sustainable energy, like solar and wind power, can also help because it doesn't hurt the environment in the same way that using lots of fossil fuels does. We also try to use fewer plastics and things that people throw away, because a lot of that can hurt animals and plants. All of these things add up to help make sure we protect the environment and make it last for future generations.
