ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Eosinophil

An eosinophil is a type of white blood cell found in your body. They are shaped like little sausages with two tiny eyes or nuclei. Eosinophils are like superheroes because they help fight off infections and diseases that can make you sick. They do this by using their weapons, or granules, to destroy harmful invaders like bacteria and parasites. Eosinophils also work to keep your body in balance by helping with inflammation, allergies, and asthma. So next time you see an eosinophil, remember they are your little protectors!
